Instructors’ Induction Course
Teaching Taekwon-Do well is about far more than knowing techniques. This extended instructors course runs for just under three hours and is designed for instructors at any stage who want to deepen their understanding of how to teach effectively, responsibly, and with purpose.
At 167 minutes in total, this is a comprehensive induction programme that goes well beyond surface-level instruction. The course focuses on the art of instructing, helping participants understand how their behaviour, communication, and decision-making directly shape the training environment and student experience.
More Than Just How to Run a Class
Rather than presenting a rigid formula, the course explores the underlying principles that make instruction effective. Participants are encouraged to think about why classes are structured the way they are, how students learn, and how instructors can bring meaning and relevance to what they teach.
Topics covered in the course include:
- The qualities of a good instructor
- How to run a class with clarity and confidence
- Moral and ethical responsibilities of an instructor
- Conducting safe, engaging warm-ups and fun games
- Bringing movements to life using realistic scenarios
- Effective communication and student engagement
Throughout the session, teaching concepts are reinforced with practical examples, helping instructors see how abstract ideas translate into real class situations. This makes the course equally valuable for new instructors building confidence and experienced instructors refining their approach.
A Course to Revisit Over Time
Because of its length and depth, this course is not something most instructors will absorb in a single viewing. Many will find it useful to revisit sections over time, reflecting on how the ideas apply to their own teaching and how their approach evolves with experience.
