Kicking development session with Master Mark Hutton
Four red belts had the opportunity to train under world-renowned Master Hutton – and what an experience it was. In this focused kicking session he challenges them to step beyond what feels safe and familiar, proving that “your comfort zone holds you back”.
Across the full class you’ll see clear, technical coaching on turning kick (Dollyo Chagi), clever use of simple equipment, and the kind of mindset reminders that help students push through plateaus in their Taekwon-Do training.

Watch a Sample Clip
In this short sample above, Master Hutton uses a chair as support so students can isolate the turning kick, feel the correct direction and trajectory, and begin to understand how the arms help counter-balance the action of the leg. It’s a simple but powerful way to sharpen technique without worrying about falling over.
About This Video
This session centres on building a beautiful, efficient Dollyo Chagi. Working with four red belts, Master Hutton strips the turning kick back to its essentials, then gradually increases the challenge so the students must move out of their technical and mental comfort zones.
You’ll see step-by-step coaching on body position, balance, hip use and retraction, along with constant reminders to bring the foot back to the glutes and maintain control at all times. The focus is on quality of movement rather than speed alone, making this ideal viewing for instructors and serious colour belts.
Throughout the class, Master Hutton reinforces the idea that growth happens just outside your comfort zone. By returning to the same kick from different angles and setups, he shows how disciplined repetition – with the right focus – leads to genuine improvement.
