Road to Double Gold

This video documents the final training session of elite competitor Mira Sjövall in the lead-up to the ITF Taekwon-Do World Championships held in September 2023.

Titled Road to Double Gold, the session captures Mira’s preparation in the final stages before competition. She went on to win double gold at the championships, further strengthening an already outstanding competitive record.

The training was filmed exactly as it took place, without staging or interruption. It provides a genuine record of how elite competitors refine timing, distance, and tactical decision-making in the final phase before a major international event.

The session was led by Master Lionel Villaret of France, who was invited to take the class. This reflects the open and collaborative training culture that Black Eagle TKD is well known for, where exposure to different coaching perspectives is used to sharpen competitive performance.

Also training in the session is Mira’s partner Sam Delrock of the Netherlands, who later went on to win bronze at the World Championships. Jukka Holmen and Luca Stirbu are also present, while Ariella Figueroa (5th Dan) can be seen practising her patterns in the background.
