In this clip Grand Master Pierre Laquerre (9th dan) shows one of the dynamic stretching exercises he uses with the use of a chair.
Dynamic stretching is best done near the start of your training session, either as a warm-up or for the specific purpose of increasing flexibility. This is a modified side rising kick drill where you open the hips and let the foot relax and point up. This stretches and opens the hips in a way that can’t be achieved without using the chair to take your weight.
